Is it true that the built-in wireless capabilites of the Powerbook can only do active scans? Sorry if this is a obvious answer but frankly, my first mac arrives today so I am certainly new.

Thanks!

I believe so...99% sure, because i was doing some research for wardriving, and found out that the airport extreme cards only do active scanning. Link

Yeah, I will be using that program when my Powerbook finally arrives. It's in the state right next to me and has sat at the freaking place all day... Fedex Package Tracking stresses me out.

it's a nice program. I was using it and getting plenty of networks to show up. Whether or not another card would allow you to connect to them, instead of saying it can't, i don't know. Have fun when you get the powerbook.
