Hello, my iBook is making this weird sorta dialing noise when I turn it on and off. It also make the noise when using applications and when pages are loading up when surfing. It is also making a loud clicking noise as well. Does anyone have suggestions as to what is wrong. It froze up when opening Safari just a couple of minutes ago. The computer is a iBook G3 I've had it for about 3 and half years. I think it may be a hard drive issue but am not really sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is a dialing noise? You mean the beeps you hear when you dial a phone?

Is it coming from the speakers?

A clicking noise is a sign of a failing hard drive.

Those iBooks were prone to a video/motherboard/reed switch problem and there was an extended repair plan (free) for them...

Anyway I'm not sure if this is your problem however.

How do you connect to the internet? dial-up/modem/phone line? or cable/ethernet.
