iSync and Sanyo

I have a Sprint Sanyo 8200 and want to sync my contacts from the phone to the HDD but the phone is not in apples compatibility list and I want to be sure it works before I buy a link cable. Does anyone know? I am looking at changing carriers in January 06, so I also plan to make sure that my new phone is iSync compatible
