It depends on what you are doing. If you are running things like logic pro, the extra ram will be helpful. If you are just surfing, word processing, and doing e-mail, you probably will not see much of a difference.

whay he said plus if your system is feeling more sluggish, you may wantt to close all apps and varify and repair permissions if it has been a while since you did that.

Are you getting a lot of pageouts?
Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor, click "System Memory", then look at "Page Ins/Outs".
