hi, im about to order my first mac. its gonna be a 15in. powerbook, 1.67ghz, 100gb hard drive, 128mb vram, and 1 gb of ram (will be upgraded to 2gb from crucial.com)

i was wondering about shipping times. the site says 1-3 days until it gets shipped. tommorows the 4th of july. if i order the mac tommorow, when would it arrive? also, does apple provide any faster shipping method? i couldnt find an answer on their website and they have not responded to my email. if so, how much extra money would it cost me.

also, i have a cousin in college who said he would be able to use his educational discount to get the powerbook at a lower price and the free ipod mini. has anyone here used an education discount? what information do they ask you for when ordering? does the school ask you anything? and is it ok if he orders it and gives it to me lol?

sorry if i asked a few newb questions.. but i really cant find answers.

thanks in advance.

My PowerBook took over three weeks to arrive, from ordering it online to having it in my hands. Seeing as you've got three built-to-order options (increased VRAM, increased HDD, increased RAM) you will probably be waiting quite awhile, like I did for mine.

Then again I am in the United Kingdom and so the shipping services to your part of the world may be a lot quicker.

I used the educational discount to order my PowerBook. In the UK Apple Store there are several educational discount 'stores' and I used the one where you had to order it from a University internet connection. Apple didn't ask me any questions regarding that.
