Mac mini audio

Does the audio port on the mini work for all speakers? I'm planning on switching to Mac and would like to make the burden (financially) as small as possible. I was just wondering if my PC speakers would work for the mini. I've lost all the cds which contain the drivers needed (not sure if the speakers had one). I think they're plug and play seeing how they work when my connect the cable to my iPod. Thanks in advance

One more thing...I'd also like to know if my LCD monitor would be compatible. It only supports VGA which I believe would work on a mini through a converter. I've read several forum posts about the troubles people faced using VGA LCDs and was wondering if this issue has been resolved yet.

Any powered computer speakers will work.

The mini includes a VGA converter. I ran through the VGA converter to a CRT monitor at 1600x1200 with no problems - but the picture improved dramatically with DVI.

1-speakers will work by themselves no drivers needed.
