Norton Utilities "W" icon (upper left)

Since I've installed Norton 6.0 on my powerbook, I'm noticing an irritating little "w" icon on top of a small hard drive icon on the upper left hand side of the screen, next to the apple menu.

What is this? It seems like this is some kind of hard drive activity, and seems to be slowing down my overall use of the computer. Any way to get rid of it?

thanks,

I'm pretty sure those are just "status lights" of sorts, indicating whether your drive is reading or writing to and from the hard drive, sort of like the old red lights on floppy drive way back when. Check the Norton Control Panels to turn is on or off I think.

"Norton Disk Light". It's a CDev. Just turn it off or yank it. It is annoying...

Maybe DiskLight is the reason. Its inside the control Items folder.

    Hope it helps.
