Hey all,

I am in the process of reimporting music into itunes at a higher quality, however I don't want to lose the play count I have on the lower quality tracks when I replace them. Does anyone know of a way to manually adjust the play count of a song?

Thanks.

If you reimport a song from a CD, iTunes should ask you if you'd like to replace the existing song with the new one. If you do, the play count should remain the same because it's replacing the file, not the song.

I don't know of any way to manually adjust play counts otherwise.

You can always try adjusting the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" in your iTunes folder. It's the file that keeps a record of all your tracks and the data associated with each song. I've never tried it myself, so I don't know if it will work.
