Hi!

IÕm planning to buy a new G5 but donÕt need the PCI-X slotsÉ

There are big differences between the G5 Dual 2Ghz and the G5 2.3Ghza are only the memory in one model is only four dimm's and the front side bus is a little bit slower... just that or some major differences?

By the way, with the last news that IBM are debuting the new chip; there will be new powermacs by the end of this year?

Regards

I'm about to buy the dual 2.0 GHz OR the 2.3 GHz. I have yet to decide.

    The differences are :

    1- 2.0 GHz versus 2.3 GHz cpu.

2-bus clock at 1 GHz versus 1.15 GHz.

3-160 GB HD versus 250 GB HD.

    4-PCI versus PCI-X.

5-4 GB ram capacity versus 8 GB.

6-2.0 GHz is 500$US LESS than 2.3 GHz.

Point 6 is what is bugging me. I don't think I'll ever need PCI-X, and I don't think I'll use the 90 GB difference on the HD.

    Hi!

What's bugging me is that the 500 US aren't in my pocket!

    No major difference...

And games only take one processor at time (but the system takes the other...)!

    Regards

p.s. - the new processor from IBM is for the powerbooks
