10.4.2 installed and External FW drive not on desktop!

Hey all, I just downloaded the new 10.4.2 update and everything seems to work great, except that my La Cie FW external drive is no longer showing up on my desktop!

i have repaired permissions, unplugged and plugged back in, restarted, and checked for firmware updates, but NADA!



Please help!!

    In general there appears to be a bug in 10.4 with drives of any sort remaining mounted. It is particularly apparent when swapping profiles but is not restricted to that. I don't think this has anything to do with your problem though I just felt like lamenting it

    have you tried restarting? or putting the machine to sleep, then waking it? this has happened to me in tiger and those two things fixed the problem. also, there was a lacie firmware update released not too long ago that you should get.

    FIXED IT! I had to reset the firewire ports.... Shut down, pull all cables out of G4 Tower, pull plug from tower, let sit for 5 minutes, then plug back in, and VOILA! External srive back in action... You set it..... AND FORGET IT!





    By the way, I already downloaded the firmware update. Thanks alot all!
