Thread title says it all. I can't get iMovie to do this.
First, you have the clip in the proper format. You will if you have the proper QuickTime codecs for the video and audio tracks. If these two conditions are satisfied, you can drag and drop the clip into iMovie's clip palette.

Most likely, you'll just need to export it as a .dv stream. But it depends upon what format the video is in. If it's an mpeg-1, you'll need to use ffmpegx to convert it, since QT will strip the audio file in the export.
