Spyware

I have a friend with an apple computer, and his internet connection is way bogged down... he lags in every game he plays... his pings are fine, if its spyware is there any free programs for elimininating it? or is there some tweak that might need to be done? thank you for any help you can render

    What machine? (Will let us know what the networking capabilities are)

    What kind of connection? (Cabled is faster than wireless)

    What OS version? (A couple of intermediate updates have had... issues)



    That will help.



    Have you tried calling his ISP to ask them to help check the throughput and lag? Some will help you with this, some won't.

    best way to check if it is the computer oir the connection, take a laptop that you know works, plug it into his modem, do a speed test, then plug the modem back into the mac and do a test at the same site.



    TYTT, tigerwould be a nice upgrade too, I notice that since 10.4.2 came along, my networking seems a lot faster than the 10.3 days (never used 10.2)
