I can't get dmg disk images to mount on my G5 using 10.4.2, all I get is a notice saying device is not configured. Any ideas on what the problem is??

Have you tried repairing permissions using Disk Utility?

Yep, no luck. It's a real puzzle, I really don't want to have to do a clean install.

I know this isn't a long term solution....but if you happen to have Roxio's Toast you can mount them using that. It usually mounts what Apple's disk mounter can't handle.

    Hope it helps.

Run the 10.4.2 Combo updater again.

I thought the same thing, unfortunately after I downloaded the 10.4.2 combo updater, the the 10.4.2 combo .dmg disk image won't mount. I get the same notice stating that the device is not configured...
