Hi,

I have a 2 years old imac without airport card and I just bought a HP PSC 1610 printer, a 12" power book and a airport base extreme.

Can you tell me step by step how I can share this printer with my 2 computers. When I plug the printer with the airport extreme using the USB cable, it doesn't work.

Thank you

For starters, all the computers need to be connected to a network (either a wireless or wired one). It doesn't sound like its the case.

According to this list your PSC 1610 is supported for printing only.

Here is the step by step for your set up.

Others have stil had problems and had to us the work around from maacosxhints

Make sure you have the printer drivers loaded on your machines and you should not have a problem.

Thank you, it works on my laptop but not on my imac. Is it because my imac is not wireless? I can't connect my imac to the printer in using the USB cable because the USB plug of the printer is taken by the airport extreme. Can I buy some kind of USB T (2 plugs) for printer, in order to connect my desktop and the airport extreme (for my laptop) to the printer at the same time.

    Thank you for your help
