G4 iMac coreserviced crash
Ola one and all,
Yesterday I tried to install 10.4.2 on my G4 iMac 800Mhz with 768Mb only to have it hang in the final stage of the install, so I was forfced to restart the machine. It got as far as the login screen, then it hung again. I restarted in Single User mode and did an FSCK which came back as fine. So I continued booting in Single user only to get the following error:
crashdump[198]: coreserviced crashed
I then booted from the Tiger DVD and repaired disc and permissions, which made no difference.
I then did an archive and install from the Tiger DVD which worked fine. So I ran Software Update, attempted to install the 10.4.2 combo installer which hung again in the final stage of the process.
I restarted the machine again in single usre mode and see the same error about the coreserviced crash.
So my question is, what now? Any ideas?
Thanks
