Desktop-finder freezing up
Last night, I accidently moved about 14 gigs of pictures onto my desktop. Yeah, I know, stupid but I was tired and it was an accident. At that point, my desktop stopped responding and I would get the spinning beachball. I left it overnight hoping that I would simply need to wait for the pictures to load onto the desktop an then I could move them back into their rightful folder. I shut my monitor off and went to sleep.
Upon wakening, there was no change so I tried relaunching the Finder a couple more times but to no avail. I manually shut down my computer and started it up again. The Dock loaded and Ièm able to use pretty much anything except for the Finder and I have no icons whatsoever on my Desktop. Ièm really at a loss as to what to do.
Also, a couple characters, mainly forward slashes, apostrophes and question marks are turning into é, è. and É symbols respectivly. This started before I had this other problem.
