apple's x 11?

sorry bout makeing two threads so soon but...



i was interested in getting gimpshop but i ran into a problem, i need "x11" i went to apple.com and could not find a download. is this program condoned by apple, where can i get it, what is it, and for how much?

    This is for Panther. If you have Tiger, it's on the DVD that came with your computer.



    And it's GIMP you want, not gimpshop.

    no man, its gimp shop. its a verdion of gimp made to be very similar to photo shop.



    but i guess i have x 11. when i try to install gimp shop im told i need x 11. whats going on?

    I was wondering this too. In regards to Gene Clean's answer, you say it is on the DVD, does this mean it is installed with Tiger or Xcode 2, or does it mean it is on the DVD, but isn't installed be default?

    It's in the DVD but not installed by default.



    This is what www.apple.com says:



    Note 10.4 customers can install X11 by using the Tiger DVD installer disk.
