Muting and the Menu Bar volume controller

Is there any way to Mute the volume using the menu bar volume icon? I realize I can just slide the volume to zero...just curious if there's a way to mute the volume from there.



(I am using an external monitor and keyboard attached to my 15" Al Powerbook and the function keys do not control the volume as they do on the powerbook itself...)

    No, but the scripts menu is right next to it. If you wanted to drop a script in there, it's



    set volume to 0
