Interesting slight of hand re: podcasting to "Feeds of Content".
Can't M$ think of anything new...
Oh sorry I forgot Microsoft's motto is "Watch how Apple do it!"
Classic MS.
Apple focuses on how to deliver a tightly targeted solution, so that you can do something specific simply. They realize that such a solution may have implications for further functionality, but they also know that just sort of tossing in a bunch of "extras" that may or may not do anything you actually want just takes away from the simple part. The functionality can always be revealed later, in a coherent way, if the opportunity arises (as in the case of the iPod/podcast/itunes/RSS combo).
MS sees that and says, "hey, we're late to the party as usual but that doesn't mean we can turn this into a big tar ball of unrelated services chasing problems that don't exist with a really bewildering user interface because we're really smart and we embrace and extend and who needs pitiful old podcasting when could you like, um, ........ have pictures of cows automatically download to your computer! We are so ahead of the curve!
Man, and it may be old news, but that Safari clone really is pretty astonishing, even for Redmond.
microsoft is a piece of garbage. thank the gods that theres firefox, iTunes and quicktime for windows, and superb encoding products like nero recode2 for windows. (edit: although nero cd burning is way too confusing compared to toast titanium 6 on mac os x)
luckily there are also decent companies like nVidia that provide excellent hardware and driver supports for their graphics card (i luv my 6600GT) and nForce4 chipset.
extra faceitious remark:
luckily there's also amd and intel CPUs that can handle all the rubbish code thrown at it by microsoft OS's and still end up actually doing good stuff that the end of the day.
yes, sometimes so... but at least the interface is clean. have you looked at the skins that come with windows media player even the stock windows media player interface is a bit all over the place \

I guess if you want total UI inconsistency with the rest of Windows, then it is. But a lot of people prefere functionality over looks, you know.
