I have been using mac mail for over a year now. No complaints. I have tried all the clients, and this one suites me best.

Some features I would like and wonder if it's an option:

A way to color code the mailbox folders so they are easily recognizable like how I am able to color code appnts in ical.

All I want is a Status Bar (back) and a conversation-like view like Gmail.

I concur on the Status Bar. See if http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...50725110729974 will help for the conversations. I never tried it because i don;t like conversations but you may like it.

Yes, the activity window needs to die! A well done status bar with rollover details would be far supperior.

As for missed features? You might try searching versiontracker for ad-ons. There are a number of patches which work well enough.

What's wrong with the activity window? It gives you

a lot of information in a flash. If you don't need that,

    than don't you activate it.

Agreed, mail.app needs a status bar. No question.

However, a sole status bar will probably fail, IF you have,

say, more than 4 mailboxes to monitor.

Well, i guess we need both:

a status bar, which tells us at a glance, that there is something

    going on (downloading etc.)

and an activity window, which tells us some more details.

Isn't there already a status bar in mail app? Or am I completely missing the point here?
