Powerbook 12" 1.5 ghz sound and monitor issue
Hi there!
I have a 12" Powerbook (1.25 Gb memory, 1.5 ghz) running OS 10.4.2.
When I boot MacOS, sometimes the monitor is dimmed (brightness is almost 0) and I need to set it to bright in the system preferences.
Also, the sound panning is sometimes set to the left speaker and I need to set it back to the middle to have output from both laptop speakers.
Does anyone recognise this problem? Is there a cure? Weird that MacOS "resets" the value to something unlogical....

This sort of issue almost always is the result
of some broken cache file, pref file and/or faulty
Parameter RAM. Just a hunch.
The first thing i'd do is resetting Parameter Ram.
To do so: reboot your mac, hold down CMD-ALT-P-R Keys immediately,
your mac will reboot without performing the normal
startup sequence. Release the aforementioned keys.
Your Mac will perform a normal startup pattern.
Perhaps this fixes your problem. See what happens.
