Keeping Better Tags

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
I have began to write my own comments, along with ledger notes of albums in the digital copies I take everywhere with my iPod. I'd hate for my comments to get deleted some way - so is there a way I can back those up? Also, can spotlight search in the comments, or do I have to go into iTunes to do that?

    I do know spotlight can search the comments' field in iTunes. But I make a lot of use out of the Grouping field, but Spotlight doesn't search that. Pity.
