HELP! Problem burning CD

I downloaded songs from iTunes and tried to burn a cd (CD-R). The cd burned, plays on my iMac but will not play in the CD player in my girlfriends car. I've downloaded songs once before and burned a CD and it played in her cd player, but this one wants to be stubborn. I thought maybe it was a bad CD-R so I tried another one with the same result. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you burning them as an mp3(music) cd?

Looks like they're being saved as MPEG4, so I assume that they are being burned in the same format. Do I need to change the format and how would I do so?

    thanks in advance

Wouldn't it be Audio CD? That's what I have to use to play mine in the car. EDIT: you choose it from the Burning tab of the Advanced Preferences. Earlier versions of iTunes had a Burning preference which is the same thing.

Some CD players can play mp3, but they all play Audio CD. You probably have the tracks on there as data CD, which keeps them in the AAC (MPEG4) format.

I tried to burn a CD again and it now says that none of the songs in my playlist can be burned to disc. What's going on?!

Have you burnt the playlist to CD-R several times already? Apple's DRM prevents multiple burning of the same playlist in order to prevent piracy. Make any change to the playlist (e.g. play order) and you should be able to burn it again.

As far as the CD not working in the car's player, make sure that your burn settings are set to "Audio CD" format. The settings are found in Preferences-> Advanced -> Burning.

You say that you've burnt a CD before that did work in the car. Are you using the same brand CD-R discs now that you did then? Some audio CD only playback devices have issues with the low reflectivity of CD-R discs.

    Good luck.
