When i sweat or my fingers are even slightly wet, it is damn hard to get the wheel to spin properly. It skips all over the place instead, even when i just want to raise/lower the volume. Sometimes it even goes backwards. Is this a universal problem?
Happens to me as well, but have no clue whether or not it's universal. Of course it's usually the rain for me, rather then sweat but it's all wet regardless.

I think the sensor uses a capacitance to tell where the pad is being touched. Excess moisture can cause problems with this because it either bleeds the natural human capacitance or misdirects it.
