How do I prevent Spotlight from searching the Trash?
I would like Spotlight to ignore anything in my Trash when it performs searches.
I've gone into Spotlight>Preferences and added ".Trash" in the "Privacy" list.
However, when I use Spotlight, items in the Trash are still appearing in my searches.
Ideas?
Thanks.

When you locate .Trashes (a normally hidden folder) in Finder, you must be in column view (not Icon view) when dragging to folder to add to your Spotlight privacy list.
Previously I dragged the icon and, for reasons unknown to me, it didn't work (even though ".Trash" showed up in the list. When I tried it again, with finder in column view, Trash was effectively shielded from Spotlight's prying eyes...
