some stupid questions about itunes
i have 2 harddrives. i want to install itunes on the same harddrive that i keep my music on, but that is not the harddrive i start up from. when i try to install itunes, it only lets me install it on my startup drive. what's up with that?
also: i'm running os9.1 can i change the color of the scroll bars? blue is nice, and i know, you know. aqua=blue. but a nice graphite-ish color would be nicer.
and another thing. i've been told that it's not good to play mp3s off of my hd, that it stresses the motors, and that it's better it burn them onto a cd and play them from there. is there any truth to this?

Playing MP3s off of your hard drive will be just fine. Besides, iTunes caches a certain length of music to RAM, so that it isn't always accessing the HD. I can't think of a time that I heard a hard drive die because MP3s overtaxed it.
I don't know about the scroll-bar color. Have you checked the Appearance Control Panel?

Is it a problem to install iTunes to the boot drive and just link it to the music on the second hard drive? This is what I do...

no, it's not a problem to do that, it's how i have it now, but sometimes itunes forgets that i want my music on a seperate drive and when i rip a cd, it saves the mp3s to my startup drive, adn then i have to move them manually. it's not a huge problem, but it's just something that i have to do that i shouldn't you know?
in the appearance control panel i have my scrollbars set to be gray, but they are still blue in itunes (and blueish in ns6.2, too.) that's not a big deal either, i hadn't really thought about it before but i went to http://www.xlife.org/aquisition_screenshots.php and saw teh screenshots of aquisition with the gray scroll bars, and i just think it's oh so much nicer. but not a big deal.

I believe you need iTunes 2 for that, and I think it works in OS 9. All I use is OS X.
