Mail says it cannot append the message to the outbox. Getting mail is fine.

(I recently lost my whole user directory in a crash of mail, so all my email folders and settings were lost)

Thanks to all of you ! !

Sincerely,

Dr. Ledgard

What is your ISP. Some ISPs allow all SMTP traffic while others require you to use their server (aol for example). And then there are some that don;t allow any outgoing SMTP traffic period.

At the time of my software crash, I was using a wireless connection to an account by someone else on sbcglobal. I know I was an authorized user, but not sure what my user name was to sbcglobal (is it my computer name? Or my user name on my computer? Or an email account user name?)

Before that, I was using a university server with no authentication.

I am now trying to use a network with sbcglobal and another with roadrunner.

    Whew !

    ?????

    Thanks !!!

Any one know the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) for sbcglobal or roadrunner?

    And how about Comcast?
