What's the best FTP client for OS X? Preferably freeware.

Panic's "Transmit". Hands down. Only downside is that it sometimes truncates long filenames of downloaded files, but resuming is not broken, even if it does so. Second place goes to the CLI ftp client ncftp.

    Transmit is shareware.

For the real free FTP client I only can think of RBrowser

    I use Fetch though

One more vote for Transmit! If there's any piece of software that embodies the philosophy behind Macintosh best, Transmit is it. No other FTP user interface comes even close to being so friendly.

Fetch. I've been using Fetch for so long I can't remember when I first used it. Solid program.
