This is weird. Sometimes, when I start up my Powerbook, the brightness is on low and I have to press the brightness key to make the screen bright again. I know I don't turn it low when I turn my Powerbook off...Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Thanks.

Do you ever have it attached to an external monitor? If I use mine in closed-lid mode, when I open up, the screen is always dimmed.

This happened to me the other day with my work iMac G5 - no explanation.

No external monitor. I just unpluged it from the power cord, took it to another room, turned it on and the screen is dimm...

System Preferences > Energy Saver > Settings for: [ Battery ]

    Other Options:

[ ] Reduce the brightness of the built-in display when using this power source
