Something big in Europe? Empty retail chains

Huh. May be jumping to conclusions, but the original story points out that Apple has never updated its entire line before. Hyperbole or a big surprise?

Beside some eMacs and PowerBooks, there [are] no stocks from the Powermac G5 to the Mac mini, the same for
the iBook and the of course the iPod.

Personally rather than renewing all Apple computers at once, Apples more likely to renew all their iPod lines, LOL.
Yeah, it's Apple Entertainment now, not Apple Computer.
There's definitely some kind of clear out / upgrade about to happen. But don't think it will be that dramatic - suspect it is more an indication of a major advertising blitz in the lead up to Xmas. New campign, new products, new hardware * new HDD iPods.
This is a big six months for Apple to prove they can maintain the level of growth they have experienced over the past two years - but this growth (in $ terms) will have to come from trad mac hardware not iPods.

The Apple UK Refurb store had a banner all last week saying "Open Everyday Until the 3/10". Well, it's the 4/10 and nothing has changed - it is still open and they are selling off refurb versions of the entire product line.
They sold out of current lineup models by last weekend on the UK refurb store - only old models left now.
