I'm using an 800MHz iBook G3 with Mac OS X 10.4.2 and I have a Pod XT with all of the most recent firmware updates. When I plug my XT into my computer and attempt to record in GarageBand 1.1 using the direct USB connection, there are latency issues as well as some loud crackling sounds. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix this? I have heard this is a common problem, but I've never been able to locate a fix that has done me any good.

Does anyone know of one? Any sort of fix at all?

Hi, dont worry about using the USB cable. Instead purchase a Griffin GarageBand Guitar Cable and connect the output of the POD to the input of the computer. Then on Garage BAnd click on Built in input (Stereo 1/2). This should work fine
