Itunes choppy playback while importing
So I'm relatively new to Itunes and am in the long process of importing all my cd's into my computer before I purchase an Ipod. The first week or so I was importing, everything was going very smoothly. The import rate was around 20X and playback sounded good while this was going on.
For some reason, when I import anything from a CD now, the speed maxes out around 9X and the sound on anything played back is very choppy (not just music either - any sound on any application running is choppy). When the import completes, sound goes back to normal. Anyone have any ideas what's causing this?
Here's my setup if it helps:
AMD Athlon64 3200+ Processor
1GB RAM
Asus K8V SE DELUXE motherboard (using ADI AD1980 onboard sound)
