quicktime question!

hey all!

lately ive been streaming a lot of videos using quicktime. i was wondering what happens to them, becuase i am downloading them in a way. are the files still on my computer? (if so, where so i can delete them to free up HD space)

    I can't answer your question fully, but I know there is a System Prefs pane for Quicktime -> Browser where you can tell it to save movies to disk or not, and delete them if you wish.

    Well, streaming something sort of means that you take something in and then let it go. The movies from net are taken to quicktimes buffer then shown on screen and then released. There can be left some traces into your cache, but there allways is, so I wouldn't be so worried about those. And quicktime only lets you save videos, that the provider has allowed to be saved. So if you sometimes download a small asf files (<1MiB) , that seem to bee videos, they actually are only headers or links to the webstreams.
