Beware. New G5s do NOT take older AP Extreme cards

in Current Mac Hardware edited January 2014
The new card is a combo AP/BT card. I'm not sure if it is even user installable yet.

'bout time. I've been waiting for apple to use combo 802.11/Bluetooth cards for years now.

    EDIT: 2002 - I am such a visionary.

confirmed. This will not be a retail part. You must have an authorized Apple Service Provider install.

thats the most retarded thing i have ever heard, so when you buy a G5 from an Apple Store, you need to pay 200 dollars to get it installed?

It's probably because of that new fangled antenna on the back. I'm assuming that the connection to it is more difficult than previous setups.
