External FireWire DVD burner
(I know: search the forums, yada yada yada
)
I'm looking to buy a DVD Burner. I want it to be external since I have a mini and don't want to be bothered with taking it apart for such a trivial matter. I'm looking for a OS X compatible DVD Burner (if it works with PatchBurn, that's fine too) that would be connected to my mini through an external FireWire enclosure.
I went to Accelerate Your Mac and all that, but I'm not really sure if I should rely on advice found there. I know you are a smart bunch and know this stuff already, so I'm turning to you.
I'm looking for something simple, Dual Layer is not necessary (if the drive comes with it, that's great, if not, screw it), and I don't want to spend more than $100 on it.
Thank you.

Here's a decent drive.
I believe Apple uses Pioneer drives as their "SuperDrives". Pioneer has a good reputation.

I couldn't tell you which external cases are quality though. I've been using a Belkin Firewire enclosure myself with a Pioneer DVR-105. It seems to work fine for me, but I've had problems with the extra firewire port on it. I was burning some files from an external drive hooked through that extra firewire port. Let's just say I learned to use the 'verify' tick in Toast. Some of the files were completely borked, and others were pointers to completely different files. For example, files 1 2, and 3 wouldn't work at all, but opening up file 4 would actually reveal the contents of file 1. Other than that one time though, things have worked fine with it. In Windows and OS X. ( We are talking 5.25" size drives here, right? Not laptop drives?
