Quicktime 7 on Web - a question

Hi,

I have quicktime pro version 7.0.3. I want to export a clip for a web page. I was just planning on exporting it as a .mov file and then embedding it in Dreamweaver as I have done in the link below:

My question is since this was exported from quicktime 7 will people need QuickTime 7 to view it, or will older versions be fine?

Depends on how you encoded it.

For example, if you used h.264 , then QT7 will be needed. But as long as you encoded it with a codec available in older versions of QT, then they'll be able to see it.

Your linked video used H.263 ... QT6 will play it, I have no idea how far back it IS supported.

sorenson 3 is the best codec for web for quicktime6 compatible stuff, IMHO.
