Hi,

Im looking to upgrade the RAM pn my 1Ghz powerbook, ive found a 512mb chip on ebay that has come out of a 1.67Ghz powerbook.

The guy who is selling it does not think it will work with my powerbook?

Does anyone know either way?

Thanks.

    I don't think it will.

You can get RAM really cheap these days, especially the PC133 stuff that will go in your powerbook. I bet you can get 512MB for less than $50 shipped.

If you have a Titanium 1GHz PBG4, you want the PC133. If you have an Aluminum one, you'll want PC2100 or PC2700. In both cases, the form factor of the module is an SO-DIMM. The 1.67GHz PBs use DDR2 modules, which won't work with either.

If you don't know what metal your PC is made of, try this: If the keyboard is black/dark gray, then you have the Titanium model. If it's similar in color to the metal, then you have the Aluminum model.
