I'm sorry, but it's another PB Post...
So, I'm a senior in high school and am thinking about getting my computer for college early. I'm a musician and will be majoring in music in school, so I want to get something that I can use to record with (using Logic, either Pro or Express...). I really would only use it over the next 4+ years to record, surf the web, and write papers/organize presentations. I figure that if it can run programs like Logic and Reason fine right now, then there's no reason to wait for the Intel Books, and I could avoid any 1G problems. Also, would it be worth it to get the extra screen space so I can fit more stuff in Logic on the screen at once?
Here's the configuration I'm thinking of:
1.67 GHz 15"
1GB RAM (w/ one slot still open so I can jump up to 2 Gigs later)
100 GB 7200 RPM HD
...and all the other normal stuff. One more thing, is it worth it to spend the $500 on Logic rather than get Logic Express? Some of the synths/keyboards on the Pro version look incredible (i.e. Sculpture, and the Hammond/Rhodes/Hohner replications). By the way, my mom's a teacher, so we get the educational discount even before I would get the student discount.
So, how's my logic here (wow, that was pretty bad...)?
BTW, sorry to put up ANOTHER thread about this...
