Sign of things to come: The first "video album"?

Seems like Apple and Green Day have released the first video album today. Every song is the actual video of it instead of audio track and it costs 14.99.

Seems like an interesting idea. I certainly buy a lot of music dvds/concerts so its not too different.

It's a pretty good deal based on the per track cost as well.

So if you wanted the music, would you have to buy the album separately?

    Yes, apparently.

I was going to say that I don't really agree with that aspect of it.

It shouldn't be hard for apple to make sort of an alias track that just references back to the AAC audio in each audio track in order to provide both a soundtrack only track and video track while conserving space and bandwidth.

It seems like there would be a way to make the audio track a standard DRMed AAC file that would automatically be extracted to your playlist.

But they'd make less money that way! \

I've always thought there should be a way to dissect the soundtrack from a DVD I've purchased, but no.
