quick question. iMac RAM in a USB 2.0 eMac will work?
hey all,
im looking to bump my eMac (USB 2.0)'s ram, but i haven't found any really good prices. I've read that if i were to get the RAM used in an iMac G5, that it would 'clock down' and work fine in my eMac. True?
this would be great, as we also have a G5 iMac, so in a few years i could switch the iMacs 256mb chip for my eMacs 512. That way the iMac would have 1GB and my eMac would have 512 (with the other chips already in them). So if i wanted to sell it i could do it like that.
Anyway, if this is true, it would be better, because i've found some decent prices on the iMac RAM. Any reasons why i wouldn't want to do this?

iMac - PC3200 (400MHz) 184-pin DDR SDRAM
Also, don't know if it matters, but curently i have 256MB of PC2700 ram in my eMac, so would having two different chips make a difference?
