WMP to iTunes Conversion

Hey everyone,

I am porting a Windows Media Player Library and playlists over to a new dual core 2.4 PowerMac. I have attempted a few things but nothing as worked right yet. I tried converting the file path inside of the .m3u file to the Macintosh scheme and then just dropping it into iTunes but that didn't work. I have also tried an applescript that is out there, I can't remember the name right now, that is supposed to input an .m3u file into a playlist. Neither method has worked. I still have about 70 playlists to convert and I don't want to do it by hand. Does any body now of a different/more efficient way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Brian

Mac iTunes won't convert WMA->AAC, but Windows iTunes will.

I'm sorry let me be more specific. The files are all .mp3 files. I just need to take the playlists that exist in WMP and get them into playlists in iTunes without doing manual entry.

Have you tried going to your specific music folder, and dragging every folder you find there to the iTunes sidebar that usually holds playlists?
