Powerbook echo/ USB issues
My 17 inch Powerbook (Late 05 model) has some annoying issues. While watching a movie or listening to music it will begin to "echo" it builds and builds until after about 3 seconds it goes back to normal. There is no interruption in the video while it's going on so I don't think it's a hard drive issue. I reset the PRAM and the problem goes away, unfortunately it keeps coming back. Any ideas?
Second problem, using an external USB 2.0 hard drive is madness. If it's externally powered there is no problem mounting and using it but if it's powered from the USB port it refuses to mount or even be recognized under system profiler. I have read that it's because Apple is being pretty picky about sticking to the USB 2.0 standard. There are no problems with any other USB peripherals. Is anybody else having issues like this with their new powerbook?
Specs:
17 inch powerbook (late 05 model)
100GB 7200 RPM hard drive
2GB Ram (installed by Apple)
