Funny thing...recently three black bands have appeared running through the Mac HD icon on my desktop...whats up with this?? anyone know?

Do these bands appear ALL of the time or on occasion? Sometimes, this can be fixed by restarting the computer. If this is still occuring after re-starting and then shutting down and re-booting your computer, then please state so.
