Windows Media Player for Mac?

When I try to download WMP for Mac, version 9, it downloads as an 'sitx' file and then when I click on it, it says there is no application to open it. Is that because it needs to be unzipped, and I don't have an app to do that? Or what is up? Any help appreciated. I downloaded WMP for my previous Mac with no problems.

You need to stuffit from Aladdin systems. www.Stuffit.com

    or from http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...texpander.html

You might find an older version (7 or 8) on www.versiontracker.com what will last longer.

I thought stuffit came with the OS. Perhaps it doesn't on newer machines.

Macs don't come with Aladdin anymore as they can unzip files. However, Macs need additional software for SIT files. I think!
