I read something around June-July I think on google's website that said they were working on a version for Mac, but nothing yet. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on this, like have they decided not to support OS X. I couldn't even find the page where it said they were working on it this time.

thanks

A couple of weeks ago I was reading on Google's site, and was looking at their statement that they were working on a Mac version. I mailed them to express a Mac user's interest. However, I have not heard any response back from the department which they marked for mail to. So I for one do not have info on it. I wish they would come out with a Mac version.

yes I emailed them as well and just asked for a roadmap instead of 'coming soon' which could mean ten years from now.

They always say that a Mac version is coming. I've yet to see anything materialize.

There are many good and helpful things about Google. But I have also found that DogPile is as prescient about the various requests that I have made of it, and so I think I am going to go there a bit more, as well as to find other search engines. I liked DogPile better than the older ones, mostly because it seemed to better find things I wished to find. I am aware that it includes google.

I like the looks(glimpses) of the google earth programme, I have wanted for fifteen or twenty years to see and make use of a 3D atlas of the earth. google earth is a step that way.

There are subscription programmes, one I found is called terrafly.com. Quite a pretty penny for that service for the average user.

But if they are deaf to Mac users, then while I will use google as I find need, I think I will look farther abroad.

Sorry brclark for not having news.

That's alright, pretty much what I had expected to hear. Just thought maybe they had decided to can the project all together. But, I still don't have a problem with google, best search engine IMO and gmail is the shit.
