superdrive trouble

About 6 months ago I added a Pioneer DVR 103 superdrive to my quick silver mac (originally had just CD-RW). The superdrive was pulled from another quick silver mac. Lately it wont play or display commercial music CD's. I'm running 10.4.3 with all the latest updates. When I run system profiler it says "unit # 0" for the super drive and "unit # 0" for the hard drive. Is that some type of conflict or is that normal for them both to say "uni # 0"? Any other thoughts?

Both my hard drive and built-in DVD±RW are also unit 0.

I think a software update may be needed. As this drive was pulled from another Mac your Mac may not have the necessary software for it. Try a search on the internet, or Apple's support website.
