crazy cool... and not some pathetic teaser like the Superman one, where you get like two seconds of face time and the logo. This has got plenty of content.

X-Men 3 - May 2006

Looks like the poop is going to seriously hit the propellor. Sentinels (edit: actually I assume we'll see sentinels, but that's because they're part of the Days of Future Past storyline). Days of Future Past. Dark Phoenix. Looks like even Ms. Barry (sp?) deigned to grace us with her presence for a few scenes.

No Sentinels in the trailer, but there are laser strafes (for whatever that is worth).

I'm pretty sure there were Sentinels outside of the Days of Future Past story. Nimrod, remember Nimrod? And the Hellfire Club. Good times...

It must be said, aside from the Patrick Stewart narration, I didn't feel very teased.

my only beef is that Juggernaut's supposed to be, like, three stories tall, not just a really muscular guy. and yeah, there were sentinels outside that storyline, it's just that the sentinel program was central to that storyline in particular (correct me if i am wrong, but the great "twist" was that the sentinels were programmed to eliminate mutants, and they logically determined that the best way to ensure the elimination of mutants was to eliminate the base stock from which they mutated... namely, the entire human race. oops!), which is why i assumed they would be featured. maybe just one enormous metallic king-kong-esque face peering through a window at a mutant inside.

nimrod would be great (the smart-aleck morphing self-aware super-sentinel), but then you get into that whole confusing-as-all-get-out storyline they got into in the early 90's when some folks got sucked into the Siege Perilous and the rest were dead yet not, and then mr. sinister started splicing dna between mutants and... well... it was just hard for a kid like me at the time to follow.

Wasn't her character underwritten for the first two films? It's not her fault, I don't think.

eh, all i can say is that i have two friends who are fairly enmeshed in comics and hollywood respectively. one has had lunch with bryan singer... well, he sat next to him at a lunch for like 12 people, but it gave him an opportunity to overhear a lot during the filming and production of X2. namely, after the oscar, she became demanding to the point of nigh-intolerable on set, and her line delivery was so wooden (see also: catwoman), well, at least she looks nice and she adds serious star-value to the cast. my comics friend corroborated much of it, though nothing first-hand, from his contacts at marvel who were on set for consultation, etc.

Ah, I remember that issue! What happened was that Nimrod (or a sentinel) gained the ability to scan with greater range or strength than he/it could before and he realized that all humans possessed the genes for the X-factor latently.

Now that you mention it, I exited on Mr. Sinister as well.
