Anyone use a Creative Zen Nano?
OK, on an Apple forum i'm probably asking for trouble here, but does anyone here use a Creative Zen Nano with a Mac? If so, what's the situation with transferring MP3s? Obviously you won't be able to use iTunes, but is it just a matter of dragging and dropping MP3s on to it?
I'm interested in getting one for the Mrs. I am not, not, NOT interested in an iPod so please do NOT try to convince me, it won't work
There's no way that's going to happen - too expensive. I'm only looking for 512 - 1GB at the absolute most, plus it needs to have an FM radio.

The phone alone costs 400? = 500$ here.
Still, 380$ is far from OP's budget, about the same as a big iPod.
I don't know the price for K750i but it needs a new memory card for music, so that has to be counted towards the purchase price.

What I hear is that Creative's products suck. For nice quality and FM radio, you could look at iRiver or Sony. If you were in the market just half a year later, I'd say mobile phone with FM+MP3 playback. By that time I think there'll be a $200 phone that does those reasonably well.
That's your opinion, fair enough, but it's one that I'm interested in, and I just need to know how well it works on a mac. She's already got a new phone, so there's not really any need for it.

Can I ask why you are only interested in this one player? Are they on steep discount or something?
Like I said, the assessments of the particular companies' products are not my own opinion, just what I have heard around on technology web sites. Most recently, I saw several people on Slashdot pop in to say that their Creative players sucked (something about the scroll pad being defective) and the company was utterly unresponsive to any personal attempts to contact them about the problem, and had publically promised fixes in the form of firmware updates that were yet to show up after two years of waiting. In contrast to this, I don't remember seeing any complaints on iRiver or Sony, and they are widely regarded to be right with Apple in quality. iRiver has the best feature set.
Personally I'm holding out for something from a reputable company that has recording, 512+MB space and solid construction. edit: and the right price. Otherwise I'd have an iRiver already.

Bah - they were... I missed out on it. It's just that any time I ask anyone for advice on what to buy on other forums, the thread just disintegrates into people arguing over which thing is better than another, so I made a decision and stuck to it to try to stop the argument happening
There's loads of cheapo players out there, but I didn't want to risk it. As for the shuffle, I didn't think that had a radio on it?
