I need to put in a 56K modem into my old G4 500..can/do most PCI modems offer both mac/pc software. Trying to find a cheap PCI modem isn't easy for the mac..but there seems to be plenty for PCs..they just don't say if there are mac(drivers) included.

thanks

Apple's USB Modem may work for you.

it definitely would work..I would have to upgrade to Tiger..panther already runs slow on this old machine and I am not sure how tiger would work..graphics certainly won't work with core image..I am handing it down to my niece..and she needs 56k for only a short while..then onto DSL..hence I would prefer to put as little $ into as possible..the USB version in CAN is about 70$

not sure..but mine sure feels that old..I got mine G4 500 the day they were available and watched as apple upgraded and upgraded for years so going from a G4 500 SP 2x AGP to a Quad 2.5 G5 PCIe is going from very old to super new

AS per speed with OSX it is..day and night
