Router Question

This doesn't necessarily have to do with Apple computers... but my mother recently bought a Linksys router.



She has an HP computer hooked up to the router and a Compaq laptop she uses for work. Initially the internet connection worked, now when both computers are hooked up to the router she gets a message saying



"IP Address is in conflict" or something along those lines.



Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem so both computers can be on the internet at the sametime.

Enable DHCP on the computers and activate the DHCP server on the router.



Most likely you setup the same static IP address for both computers.
